Candice started signing with her daughter, Zoe, when she was eight weeks old. She quickly became passionate about the Baby Signs® Program and decided to become an Independent Certified Instructor. At 11 months, Zoe is now using over 20 signs and is communicating clearly with sign sentences. Candice is so excited to share this signing adventure with her family and the families in her workshops and classes. A "mompreneur," Candice is loving her new identity as a mother and a small business owner.

"I attended SS&P classes with my 9 month old son Charlie in the summer of 2010 with Candice. I had heard about signing but didn’t really know how it could be integrated into our day to day routine. Charlie absolutely loved the classes, Candice made it so much fun in a relaxed but structured way. It is pretty difficult to get a group of under-1’s to sit in a circle for very long but Candice took it all in her stride and is obviously a natural with children. Most surprisingly, I really enjoyed the classes myself, it was a great way to spend an hour with my son whilst learning new things.
The signs are very easy to memorize and I have found that my husband and helper have been able to pick them up with no problem. I believe it is important to start communication development as early as possible, especially with boys who are often slow to grasp such concepts and struggle later in life. Whilst Charlie did not pick up signs during the lessons, he began to develop them up after a few weeks of repetition; it is obvious that he is studying our actions and taking it all in. As he progresses to that awkward stage, where his brain is working faster than his speech skills, I know this is going to be an invaluable tool for all of us, and Charlie will continue to be the happy baby that he is, knowing that we are able to interpret his needs.
I would highly recommend this class to everyone and babies of any age.

"We loved our Sign, Say and Play® classes. The content was just enough each week to keep the babies interested and for parents to remember without looking at a manual. I like that it is set up as a 'playgroup'. It allowed my daughter to interact with other babies and learn through play. What a delight when Gemma picks up a new sign - her own little way of communicating! We even sign when we are reading books such as Good Night Moon, Runaway Bunny, and Pat the Bunny. "I signed my daughter up for Sign, Say and Play® class when she was only 5 1/2 months old and my husband found it silly because she was so young. When the class began and we saw some of the older children starting to use signs, we got more and more enthusiastic... and one day, around 7 months, Lily did her first sign!
